Styles change up again on the title track as the group hits a Chick Corea-esque Latin jazz piece.
[代]1 ((通例such, the same, as, soと呼応して))…

He looked out at the bright blue sky of the summer's day beyond the windows. There was a whole world out there, another world, that he would soon have to join and in which he would have to make his way without the membership of his own small peer group, the intelligence officers among whom he he had lived for most of his adult life.
There was a whole world out there,のa world を the world に変えることは出来ないでしょうか。
2.without the membership、the intelligence officers の the を取ってしまうことは出来ないでしょうか。
「○○の時はcould で良いけど、△△の時は was(were) able to を使う方が自然だよ」
・can と be able to の違い(←これも、よく解りません)
・could と was(were) able to の使い分け
Men must endeavour to afford each other every pleasure suitable to the taste and inclinations of each, of whatever kind they may be. But as it is not to be expected, that a whole nation should become philosophers, and comprehend this truth, and as the majority would probably make use of this doctrine only to the injury of others, it is absolutely necessary to deceive the common people, and convince them that there is a superior power which sees our most secret actions, and to which we must one day give a strict account of all the evil done to our fellow-creatures, and severely atone for it.
「every pleasure suitable to the taste and inclinations of each, of whatever kind they may be」の辺りが特に苦しいです。
FREDERICK FORSYTH の THE DECEIVER の一節です。
Orlov looked around as if saying goodbye for the last time to a world he had known.
the world he had known
