"本を読むのが好きです" を英語でなんといいますか

"本を読むのが好きです" 普通はシンプルに、I like books. で良いと思います。 でも、I like to read booksでも良いと思うんですけどね。冠詞なしのbooksで一般的な本で”読む”と言うニュアンスも含んでいるのでto read booksはまわりっくどくはあります。それと確かに”複数の本を読むのが好きだ”と言う意味にも捉えられるので、その辺をアメリカ人の先生はついてきたのかな。 他に”読む”を強調したければ、I like reading books.でも良いです。 でも本当のところ、あなたは、本が好きなのであって、本を読むと言う行為が好きなのではないのでは？

Do you mind If I lend you this book? 文法書の解説では1. が正しいとなっていました。 しかしながら、2. や3. が間違っている理由が分かりません。 2. の言い方「Can I ...?」は、 Can I help you? などと、相手に自分がなにかをしてあげるときに 使えますよね。だから、Can I lend you this book? というのは 正しいはずだと考えました。 3.の言い方「Do you mind if I...?」は、 自分からなにかを相手にしてあげるのではなく、 自分が何かをしていいか相手に許可をとるような場合につかわれる ことが多いですよね。ですので、この3.のケースでは 「私があなたに本をかしてもよいですか？」というような ニュアンスになりますよね。 少しまどろっこしいですが、意味は通じなくはないのでは？と 思ったのですが、実際にはあまり用いられることはないのでしょうか？ 詳しい方教えて頂けませんか。 宜しくお願い致します。
