訳し方で意味が随分かわる？
１：You are a abd girl I dont know what "sukebe" is and I am not at work to ask any japanese people. ２：I have not received your letters, post is bad at christmas. １：のabd girlとは論文提出を除き博士号取得の条件を満たしてる人ありますが、英語の力が前より良いということでしょうか？それとも論文提出までにまだ及ばなということでしょうか？ １－２：スケベについて何故ここでworkが使われるのですか？ ２：ポストが悪いと言ってるのでしょうか？それとも、手紙が届かないから悪いクリスマスといってるのでしょ うか？ 分かる方お願いします。

Mailをくれた本人に確認するのが一番いいと思いますが、ニュアンスとしは 「ぼく今休暇中で職場の日本人に聞く事ができないよ(だからスケベの意味わかんない)」 でしょうね。 abd girlに関しては単に社交辞令で深い意味はないと思います。 postに関しては「今クリスマスシーズンだから通信事情が悪いんだよ(だから手紙を読んでない=自分のせいじゃないよ 」 でしょうね。 ご参考まで。

1. a abd girl #2 さんに同感です。a bad girl「君はイケナイ子だなあ」のことでしょう。 このような文で「論文提出...」のABDが突然出てくるのは不自然。#3さんの abled（正しくはableだと思いますが）だとしたら冠詞は an です。an able girl--> a abd girl のミスとは考えにくいです。意味の流れでも、a bad girlがマッチしそうです。 1-2. not at work 「仕事中でない」以外に「～という作業をしてない」という意味にも使われるので、単に「どの日本人にも尋ねていない/尋ねようとしていない」ということでは？ 「会社が休みで日本人に聞けない」と言いたいときは、ほかの表現を使う気がしますが・・・ Webで検索すると、「仕事/職場」とは関係ない文脈で、 「This is just surmise, I'm not at work to check right now/ これは単に推測で、今は確認してない」 「I'm not at work to test it./ 自分ではそれをテストしてない」 のように使われています。 2 post #1, #2 さんと同じです。

１：君なら（日本人だから意味が）分かるだろうけど、僕にはスケベの意味が分からないし、会社休んでるから職場の日本人にも聞けないよ。 abd=abledとしました。 ２：は＃１さんと同じです。

１：a bad girlの誤植では。 １－２：（スケベという言葉を）職場で聞けるようなことじゃないじゃないか、という意味では。 ２：クリスマス時期は（クリスマスカードの配達が混んで） 郵便業務がスムーズに行かないので、まだ君の手紙は受け取っていません。

she is good at making sure that calls that I do not want do not get through. 辞書の例文なんですが、彼女はしたくない電話を片付けてくれる、というような意味になるということは分かるのですが(違っていましたらご指摘ください。文法＋get through が多義だったりでよくわからなくなってきました。)、I dont want dont という並びを見たことがなく「・・・・ん？」となってしまいました。 例文の訳、文法を教えてください。

My husband of 25 years was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s shortly after we married. He has been lucky until recently and the disease has been mild. However, he’s now rapidly declining. I am a research fanatic (and a bit bossy, I admit) and have spent years reading everything I can get my hands on, but no matter what I discover (the benefits of PT! tai chi!) he pooh-poohs it and won’t even discuss it with his doctor. Now, at the point where he is barely mobile, unable to work, and susceptible to falls, I find myself deeply upset that he has never been willing to try the (proven, not wacky) things that might help him. I work full-time (to support the family); we have three kids. I would never leave him, but I feel like a big boulder is hurtling down the hill at me. And I am so, so angry.
