タイトルのような件名で、内容は This text is part of the internal format of your mail folder, and is not a real message. It is created automatically by the mail system software. If deleted, important folder data will be lost, and it will be re-created with the data reset to initial values. というメールが来たのですが…これは何でしょうか？ 一応何となく読むとこのメールを削除できない感じがして…でも英語がよく分からないので恐いです。 これは、何なんでしょうか？？教えてください、お願いします。

回答一番乗り！ということで。 上記のメッセージはIMAPサーバー(メールサーバーの一種)が自動的に生成するメッセージです。IMAPサーバーがフォルダを管理するために使用しています。 IMAPに対応していないPOPサーバーとIMAPサーバーを併用すると、POPサーバーがIMAPサーバーの管理しているメッセージをもダウンロードしてしまうことがあります。 kkaoriiさんの場合はこのケースだと思います。 サーバー管理者に問い合わせてIMAPに対応したPOPサーバー(普通、IMAPのディストリビューションと一緒に配布される)と入れ替えるように進言しましょう。 ちなみに、ダウンロードした当該メッセージは削除しても問題ありませんが、サーバー管理者がPOPサーバーを変えない限り（文面にもあるとおり）再生成されますので、また同じようなメッセージがダウンロードされることになりますよ。

これはメールサーバが自動的に挿入するメッセージです。削除しても、放っておいても問題ありませんが、削除した場合はまたメールサーバで自動的に作り直されます。
