＜会社が～と言った＞という言い方
例えば、どこかの企業などに問い合わせの電話をしたとき、相手が～と言ったと英語で説明したいときの言い方を教えてください。 1. The Company said that it is... 2. They said that it is... 3. He or she said that it is... 電話で答えている人は、1人ですが、会社として答えている場合は、they にした方がよいのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いします。

基本的には「They」が最適ですが、「say, said」だけではなく、 They explained that,,, They insisted that,,, They described the situation,,, They mentioned that They refered that They outlined that,, They briefed that,,, 溶かしておくとバリエーションが広がるのと,聞き手からすると次に述べられる内容がある程度想像出来ますので、これまたよろしいのではないかと、,,

they でも it でもＯＫ それより that 節の自制に注意が必要。「と言ったが今は違う」のニュアンスなら that節は過去形にしないとまずい。

範囲の広すぎる質問です。 質問者の立場、問い合わせ会社との関係、その回答を 伝える相手によります。 どの例文も適した状況であれば使えます。 個々の事例を挙げると長くなるので割愛しますが、 ”会社が”は、”会社名”そのものにした方が判りやすい場合も あります。

普通は they ～～～と言います。 一人を限定したいなら The person ( that I talked to ) on the phone said～～～. 電話対応した人は～～～と言ったんだ。と言う時ですね。 会社全体の意見として何か言われたら（多くの場合そうなので） they said～～～でいいと思います。
