・was close to a deal 「合意に近づいた」くらいでどうでしょうか。 ・the last of the big Wall Street banks to .. お書きになってるのでいいのではないでしょうか。「巨大銀行」を「大手銀行」としてもいいでしょうし。 ・sound enough to stand on its own 「自立するのに十分健全な」ということで、「十分自立可能なだけ健全化した」くらいでどうでしょうか。 ・出だしの WASHINGTON ― ［ ］で囲って［ワシントン］でいいのでは。つまりワシントンからのニュースという意味だと思いますので。
