There is no single ～は、比較的よく使われる表現で、～は一つではないとか、一つとは限らないといった感じで訳されます。 よくあるのは、there is no single answerとかでしょうか。 したがって、There's no single path to that.「そこに至る道(方法)は、一つとは限らない」でよいと思います。 That is not a single path to that.でもよいのかもしれませんが、there is no single ～とthat's not a single ～だと、使用頻度は、前者の方が圧倒的に高く自然な表現だと思われます。 英語モードでGoogle検索した結果は、以下の通り。 "There is no single" 1,880,000件ヒット "That is not a single" 1,240件ヒット 「それに向う一本の道すらない。」は、「There is no path to that.」でしょうね。

「それに至る道は一本も無い」ですね。 それに向かう道は一本ではない、と言いたければ、 The path to that is not single.

He insisted on John's not going there alone. という文があった場合、 これを、John's no going there alone とできないのはどうしてでしょうか？ There is no telling ～という言い方はあって、同じ動名詞なのに、どうして、片方はnot で、片方はnoなのでしょうか？ そうなっているから、と言われればそれまでなのですが、なにか理屈が知りたいと思っています。

No wonder.は (It is ) no wonder that he refused your offer.と形式主語のIt is が省略されていますし、No doubt.は (There is ) no doubt that he will be chosen chairman.とThereis や I have が省略されています。No problem.はどのように省略されているのでしょうか。We have no problem. とかIt is no problem. と言いいますが、形式主語 It を用いて、It is no problem to go there.とか、It is no problem that you go there.と言えるのでしょうか。

Is there no apple?に「うん、ないよ」と答えたい場合、 Yes, there is (no apple.)なのか No, there isn't (any apple).なのか Yes, there isn't (any apple)なのか No, there is (no apple)なのか 一体どれなんでしょうか？ （回答の英文が肯定文なら, Yes を否定文なら Noというのは知っていますが、↑の省略が起きている場合全てが可能です ） 形の上ではIs thereと肯定なのでYes, there is (no apple)でもいい気はするんですが、 意味的には否定なので、there isだと逆の意味に聞こえてしまう気がし、No, there isn't (any apple)のほうがいいのかなとも思うんですが、 その場合だとthere isn't (no apple)＝（２重否定→肯定→りんごはある）になるかもしれない？とも思い、混乱気味です 両者の考えを統合したYes, there isn't (any apple)/No, there is (no apple)も思いつきました。 there is/isn'tの後にanyが勝手に来るのか、それともnoがそのまま引き継がれるのかが問題だと思うんですが・・
