高校入試の英語問題です！解説お願いします
来月、高校入試を控えている中３です。 今、英語の問題（長文）を解いているのですが、どうして解答のような和訳になるのかがわかりません。 （特に、not～のあたり） 英語は得意な教科なので、塾でも英語をとっていません。 私は英検準２級をもっているので、ある程度の知識はあると思います。 誰かわかる方いましたら、解説お願いします。 以下がその英文と和訳です。 Today we wear footwear not only for these basic functions but also as part of our sense of fashion. （訳：今ではそういった基本的な機能のためだけでなく、ファッションのセンスの一部としても履き物を履きます。）

私は去年高校入試でした。つまり高１です。 not only A but also B. 私も覚えましたね。 この構文を問う際によく書き換えの形で出されるのが、 「not only A but also B」=「B as well as A」=「AだけでなくBも」 の構文です。AとBの位置が逆なので注意する必要があります。 また、この二つに如何なるニュアンスの違いがあるのかは知りません。No.1の方が言う通り確かに高１で習う事項ですが、私の住む県(埼玉県)では頻出の問題でしたので、一応意見させて頂きました。入試頑張ってください。高校生活は大変自由ですので。

N0.1の方が言われているようにnot only A...but (also) Bの形です。会話ではalsoがよく省略されるようです。 普通の文ならA and B としてToday we wear footwear for these basic functions and as part of our sense of fashion. となるんでしょうが、これでは味気ないのでAとBを強調するためにnot only A...but (also) Bの表現を使っているようです。そのほかにすでにご存知のboth A and B の表現もありますね。 これらは文法的には「等位接続詞」といわれています。暇なときにちょっと文法書を覗くといいでしょう。

これは not only A but also B という文法で訳は 「AだけでなくBもまた～だ」という風な意味になります 今の場合 A＝for these basic functions＝それらの基本的な機能のため B＝as part of our sense of fashion＝ファッションの一部として 私はこれを高校で習ったので高校受験には多分出ないと思いますよ

Many of these folks have kids or work irregular hours, which makes night school impossible. 2番目の文の意味がわかりません。典型的な学生が16%しかいない、文と、子供がいて夜間学校にも通えない人がいる、がどのようにつながるのでしょうか。 よろしくお願い致します。

英語の問題です Culture does not always determine the messages that our bodoy movements conwey. Contexts,personalities,and relationshp also infuluence them. この二行目のalsoについてなのですが、このalsoは一行目のcultureと同様に、contexts～relationshipも体の動きが伝える意図を決定（影響）しないということでしょうか。 alsoが後ろにかかってると考えていいんですよね？ 回答よろしくお願いします
