I had been watching TV when the phone rang. I was watching TV when the phone rang.
(By)next March the player will have been playing in the same team for twelve years.
The boy had been holding on to a little piece of wood when he was rescued. は、The boy was holding on to a little piece of wood when he was rescued.
John had been working at that company for five years when it went out of business. は、whenのほかにuntil it went out of business.

But the sea is always moving, even so much that our eyes can see it, simply because the air above is moving.
①Neither dog nor cat is(are) not allowed in the house.
②Neither you nor I are (am) crazy.
次の英文の最後の文 being as loud as Americans are の意味がいまいちつかめません。
The trains are so quiet! Other than the occasional quiet conversation, everyone is either on their phones or just minding their own business. This is in huge contrast to the NYC subway where you have people having loud conversations, talking on their phones, playing instruments, and being as loud as Americans are.
As soon as the door opened, they ran away.
When have you been to Tokyo?
When has she ever done it?
自分もドラマなどで、There is yours.
When have you climbed the mountain? When did you climb the mountain?
He is the greatest writer that ever lived.
He is greater than any other writer that ever lived.
①-1 He is a greater writer than any other writer (that) ever lived.
