「お礼コメント」をくださり、ありがとうございました。 ＞件の箇所の元になる英文 what you are doing is provoking the behavior.を強意構文にした型である、が理解しやすいのですが・・・。 ⇒お言葉ですが、私の頭では、どうも強調構文とは考えられません。 （１）強調構文なら、 find out (that) it is what you are doing that is provoking the behavior のように、「it isがwhatの前にくるはず」です。そして、その場合whatは疑問詞でなく、独立用法（先行詞を含む用法）の関係代名詞と、いうことになりますね。 （２）この文意の場合、 「あなたのしていること」を「その人の行為を誘発している要因」として指定するとしたら、それは、ただ可能性として推測されることであって、まったく強調されるようなことではありません。 （３）find outの目的語として、 「あなたのしていることそれ自体がその人のパワハラ行為を誘発している」と認識することは、「発見するまでもない」ことのように思われます。「発見すること」は、もっと洞察力や思考力を要するような、もっと不可解・不透明なことが想定されるはずです。 以上から、「形式面から見ても、内容面から考えても」この表現が強調構文であるとするのは、私にとってはまったく考えられません。それは、どう考えても不自然です。 ということで、この表現はやはり「間接疑問、関係節、形式主語、真主語…」などの文法的要素が関与する文で、「あなたの言動の何がその人のパワハラ行為を誘発しているのかを発見する」といった意味内容以外にはあり得ないと考える次第です。
