いろいろなご意見があるとは思いますが、私はどうも「a/an＝とある」「the＝その」と考えるやりかたが好きなのですよね。 1. I have a piano.（私は、とあるピアノを持っている） 2. It is an old piano.（それは、とある古いピアノだ） 3. I have a piano.（私は、とあるピアノを持っている） 4. The piano is old.（そのピアノは古い）

My daughters, who started playing piano from 5 years old, had already become adults and none of us play the piano now. However I can’t decide to dispose of it. I hear that there is a company which buys pianos like our piano and renews them. If such pianos are fixed by professionals, the fixed pianos seem to make good sounds again. よろしくお願いします。

This is old. この文のoldの前にanを入れてはダメですよね？aとかanは数えられるものしかつかないですよね？oldみたいな形容詞にはつかないですよね？

小説を読んでいるのですが、”And so here I was, thirty-seven years old , healty, with enough money to have a good time, and bored to death."という文が文法的に分かりません。 ”thirty～death"までが、I wasの補語なのか、単なる補足的な説明なのか（そのようなことが可能なのかどうかも）全く見当がつきません。この分の前の文が”I was desaｐpointed with the place...."となっているので、 "so(そのように）"は前の文を意味するのだと思います。 どうか英語に堪能な方よろしくお願いします。
