環境問題に関する英語の一節です。環境を守るために、いろいろな取り組みが世界中で行われている・・・・という文脈です。その１つの例として登場する英文です。 In San Francisco, it has become illegal for shops to offer regular plastic bags at all. 「サンフランシスコでは、そもそもお店側がプラスチック製の袋をいつものように提供してしまうことが違法になった」 私が気になっているのは２箇所です。 (1) regular の訳出「いつものように」副詞的に訳しています。 (2) at all の訳出「そもそも」と訳しています。 間違いの指摘、あるいは、日本語としてもっといい訳案があるようでしたら、アドバイスいただければと思います。よろしくお願いします。

I found him in the kitchen. この文は、「in the kitchen」は、「to be in the kitchen」の省略結果で、「in the kitchen」自体は確かに副詞句だが、「to be...」の部分全体として見た場合は、himを意味上の主語とする述部になれるので補語になれる。 こういう解釈もできるとネット上で見ました。 war is over.のように、状態をあらわす副詞は補語になることがあるとは知っていたのですが、「in the kitchen」のような場所をあらわす副詞句の前置詞句も補語になることがあるのでしょうか？この場合、be動詞を使った「I am in the kitchen.」もSVCの文になるのでしょうか？ また、「Did the bird remain in sight?」という文はremainのSVCの用例に、「she was remaining in the room.」という文はremainのSVMの用例に書いてあったのですが、in sightとin the roomはどちらも副詞句に見えるのに、どうして片方はCで片方はMになるのでしょうか？ どういう時に副詞句がCになり、どういう時に副詞句がMになるのか？ということが特に知りたいです。 すみません、回答をお願いします。

so that 構文について質問させていただきます。 普通 I was so tired that I could not do that. というように使うかと思います。 しかし次の東大の問題の文章中のbut以下を見ていただけますか。 In the example I am thinking of the person who continues to behave in what most people would agree is a normal manner, but one so remort from his old self that he appears, to those who know him, to be someone else entirely. ここで私が引っ掛かるのは、but one so remort・・・ ではなくbut one is so remort・・・とすべきなのではということなのです。なぜbe動詞が不要なのでしょうか。 簡単にヒントでもかまいませんので教えていただけますでしょうか。
