はじめまして． 質問者さんの解答も正解です．cookは第四文型で使うことのできる動詞で cook A B で「(主語は)A(人など)にB(食物)を料理してあげる」 の意味があります．勿論，これを cook B for A と表現してもよいのですが，この形になると「Aに料理してあげた」のニュアンスが先のものより強調されるようです． 以上，参考になりましたら．

英語のtoとforのニュアンスの違いが分かりません。 例えば、 I took a delicious cake to her. I took a delicious cake for her. それとか、 The plane for Japan is ready to take off. The plane to Japan is ready to take off. や、 I went to the office to work. I went to the office for working. など、上記の例文は自分で考えたものなので 間違っている文や不自然な文もあるかも知れませんが、 とりあえず、toとforのニュアンスがわからないのです。 『これってtoでもforでもどっちでもいいよなぁ…』 という時がたまにあります。 なので、上の３つの文のそれぞれの違いについて教えていただき、 自分で英語を話したり、読み書きしたりする時に どのように使い分けたら良いかというポイントを 教えていただけると非常に助かります。 皆様、どうぞご教授のほど宜しくお願い致します。 m(_ _)m

1. He was aware of his parents' love. （質問） 普通、loveは他動詞として用い、他動詞から派生した名詞の前の所有格は「目的語」っぽく訳すというのが一般的ルールだと思います。 2. I am responsible for her protection. （her protection=彼女を保護すること） しかし1.での所有格his parents' は主格として扱われ、「彼の両親が（彼を）愛していること」ですよね。 これは例外ですか？それとも他動詞から派生した名詞の前に来る所有格でも主格っぽく訳すのは一般的なのでしょうか？もしそうならいい例文はございますか？それとも、「（彼が）彼の両親を愛している」と考えても良いのでしょうか？いいアドバイスをお願いします。
