選挙について話をしているときのwormとは
こんにちは。 オーストラリアのABC newsを聞いているのですが、選挙の ことについて報じている際に何度となくwormという単語が 出てきます。 １．The Nine Network used the worm to monitor undecided voters, two-thirds of them declared Mr Rudd the winner ２．The Government derided Mr Rudd's performance as "bumper sticker sloganeering", and dismissing the opinionated worm as meaningless entertainment. ３．The controversial worm, tracking the views of an audience of undecided voters watching last night's television debate, ４．I think we can see why the Prime Minister didn't want the worm. 同一のニュースの中に上記のように沢山でてきたのですが、 辞書を見ても適切や訳語が探せません。どういう意味なので しょうか・・よろしくお願い致します。

支持率を示す折れ線グラフのこと。オーストラリア独特の言い回し。 グラフがみみずみたいだからだそうです。 こんな英語、住んだことなきゃわからないですな。

King Faisal was declared the head of State. At the same time Prince Zeid, Faisal's brother, was declared Regent of Mesopotamia. The San Remo conference was hastily convened. Great Britain and France and Belgium all agreed to recognize the provisional independence of Syria and Mesopotamia, while claiming mandates for their administration. Palestine was composed of the Ottoman administrative districts of southern Syria. Under customary international law, premature recognition of its independence would be a gross affront to the government of the newly declared parent state. It could have been construed as a belligerent act of intervention due to the lack of any League of Nations sanction for the mandates. In any event, its provisional independence was not mentioned, although it continued to be designated as a Class A Mandate.
