I have been to Manila many years ago.

There were a lot of reasonable prices accommodations in Ermita and Malate district at that time.

I have also stayed at a guest house in Ermita. The price was 250 pesos a night.

It was located near Rizal park and not so far from a railway (LRT) station. (United Nation)

However it was quite dangerous at night time (after 22.00) in Manila.

But I do not know how current situation is in Manila.

Anyway please be careful with your belongings and money during staying in Manila.
