How do you balance your personal emotions and the intentions of the composer in your interpretations?
Anne Salié: It's hard to tell. What I consider to be the intentions of the composers, is already my personal interpretation, affected by, and based on experience, tradition and personal emotion.
Xenia Kourkoumeli: In a way that the loyality to the music doesn’t disturb my musical freedom.
個人的な感情と、あなた自身が解釈した作曲家の意図、この2つのバランスをどうとっていますか？
アン：難しい質問ね。これが作曲家の意図だと判断したものは、私自身の経験や、しきたりや、個人的な感情に基づいているわけだし。
ゼニア：ある意味音楽に対して忠実であるということは、自分自身の自由を拒む事はないということよ。
アン → 自分の経験などで解釈している。という考え。
ゼニア→ その音楽家の意図を正確に解釈する。
それは自分の自由を拒むということにはならない。むしろ自由になれるということ。という考え。
2人の主張は言い換えるとこうだと思います。そして、問題は「ある意味」です。
ゼニアはアンの主張を受けて「ある意味」と言っています。
しかし、この2つの主張を見る限り、「ある意味」ではつながらないのではないか？もし、「ある意味」を使いたいのであれば、
ゼニアの主張はこう言い換えないといけないのではないだろうか？
「ある意味、自分に素直であるということは、音楽家の意図に対して忠実である、と言えるわね」
こんな感じにしないといけないのではないかと。これならば、アンの考えをくみ取り、
「ある意味」の言葉がうまくはまります。
その代わり原文とはまるっきり変わってしまいますが。
