ある市販の書籍を見ていたら、 No other time period seems to capture the imagination with such bold and romantic images as does the Middle Ages. という文があったのですが、文法的な解釈をどうしたらいいのかわかりません。 主語は「time period」、動詞は「seems」とすると、「to capture the imagination with such bold and romantic images as does the Middle Ages」の部分は どう説明すれば（解釈すれば）いいのでしょうか？ 「全体で前置詞句」でいいのでしょうか？ それとも「to capture the imagination」が目的語の役割をする前置詞句で、 「with such bold and romantic images」が「the imagination」を修飾する形容詞句、 「 as does the Middle Ages」は・・・、「to capture」を修飾する副詞句？？？ という感じでしょうか？ もう１点。最後のほうに出てくる「does」は何故入っているのでしょうか？ 「中世ほど奔放でロマンチックな想像を掻き立てる時代は（無い）」という意味なら doesはいらないような気がするのですが？
