> 文意から考え、participants are が省略されているいうふうに思いますが、、いかがなものでしょうか？ その通りです。というか、それしか考えられません。while (they are) enjoying ... ですね。 > 機械的には覚えれないということでしょうか？ なぜ 「機械的に」 覚える必要があるのでしょうか？ 読めば文意から自然に分かるように思います。

『文意から考え、participants are が省略されている』 ので、自然言語に機械的な統一ルールが通用しない「例外的な言い回し」や「人間がそこまで考えずに書いたり話したりしている文法を守り切れていない表現」がある、というだけのことです。

For a long time many people thought that learning to read was like learning to understand a spoken language- that it was a netural process. For example, it was thought that most children would learn to read naturally if they were in an environment with lots of books and were allowed to develop reading skills in their own way. The idea that reading is a natural process is quite common among educators, but actually learning to read is as difficult as learning to juggle while riding a unicycle backwards. いつも楽しく真剣に拝見させていただいております。 ～ingに関する質問なのですが ＊Going to class also teaches sutudents how to work with other people. ＊Having to be at a particular place at a particular time prepares them for getting a job. 上の２つの文章で【Going（to class ）】【Having（to be ）】とはどう意味なのでしょうか？ 動名詞の場合、その後に不定詞が来てはいけないはずだったと思うんですが… ご意見お聞かせ願います。

we often saw children playing with ～ の文なのですが、 このplayingの部分がどうしてingがついているのかわかりません。 playではだめなのですか？ またこれは、前にbe動詞がないので、現在進行形ではないですよね？
