challenge themselves について
Because of the pressure of job hunting, most students take the safe and sure route and remain in Japan for job interviews rather than challenge themselves abroad. この文について質問です。 challenge themselves abroad の構文がとれません。 challenge はここでは動詞ですか？ themselves は代名詞ですよね？ abroad は副詞ですよね？ 教えて下さい。 よろしくお願いします。

1.challenge はここでは動詞ですか？ おっしゃる通りです。 ２。 themselves は代名詞ですよね？ はい、再帰代名詞です。 ３。 abroad は副詞ですよね？ そうです。 ４。 下記の動詞の６番目に「（人の）意欲をかき立てる」と言うのがあります。これが近いと思います。 http://eow.alc.co.jp/search?q=challenge 「海外で自分たち自身の意欲をかき立てる」と言う意味です。 ５。訳 就職を求める圧力のため、学生の中には、海外に出て自分たち自身の意欲をかき立てるより、むしろ安全確実な道を取って就職面接のために日本に残る者が多い。
