私の想像では、問題は spread という語ではあるまいかと思います。binm さんは 「1日を通してやれる運動」 という解釈に満足しておられないのではないでしょうか。 spread という語には to distribute over a greater or a relatively great area of space or time という語義があるそうです （下記のところから引用しました）。 そうすると 「その効果が１日を通して持続するような運動」 というふうにも解釈できるのではないでしょうか。
