This being soはyou may ask-- 以下の主節を修飾する分詞構文です。 普通の文章に直したら。 勿論， This is so.ですが，条件的な意味を持たせる為に If this is soと言う条件文を分詞構文を使って表現しています。 I am a boy. 主節が続くことを前提にこの文章を同じ様に分詞構文で書くとすると， I being a boy. 意味は 私が少年ならば， 私が少年なので， etc. 前後の脈絡で意味が変わります。

「What's so ever」の意味と使い方が、よくわかりません。 意味は「それがどんなものであれ」で、前の言葉を強調している、「What's so ever」がなくても文章は成立する、という解釈であっているでしょうか？ また下記のように、Noという否定形といっしょに使われることが多いような気がするのですが、使い方としては、否定形と供に使うことが多い、ということでいいでしょうか？ I have nothing what's so ever to do.
