接続詞と主語が省略された形を 「分詞構文」 といいます。 下記のページも参照なさるとよいかも。分かりやすく説明してあると思います。 http://delta-scope.com/modifier/participle_con/01.html > An application fee is not required when applying for a home loan ... この文では when という接続詞は省略されていませんが、applying の部分が分詞になっています。 たとえば when you apply for a home loan ... のような内容に置き換えて読めばいいはずです。

(1)whenとspeaking の間にはyou areが省略されていると理解してよいでしょうか？ 疑問詞+ingにはどうも抵抗がありまして、省略されているであれば省略前を理化しておきたいです。 After ingやbefore ingならば前置詞句として理解できるのですが、、、、。 ご教授の程どうぞ宜しくお願い申し上げます。

英語やり直し組です 連続の質問ですみません。 So when you prevent the Palestinians from perpetrating suicide terrorism, and this should stop most of them, not all of them, then you are succeeding in a major way to curb terrorism (1)意味がわかりません。 「when you prevent～」と「and this should stop～」がよくわかりません。 whenはthis以下にもかかっているのかもしれませんが、それだとthenが変に感じます。。。 考えれば考えるほど意味がわからなくなっていきす。 立て続けの質問で申し訳ありませんがお願いします。

文法書にwhereは省略できないって書いてあったんですが、 whereを関係副詞のthatに置き換えて省略することはできないんですか？ 例えば、 There are cases where honestry does not pay. ↓whereをthatに置き換える There are cases that honestry does not pay. ↓thatを省略 There are cases honestry does not pay. みたいな感じで。
