ネットで調べてもなかなか出てこないので教えてください。 Do we have any milk? という文章。Do we～？という意味がよくわかりません。Do you～?とは全然異なる意味になりますか？ Do we have any milk? は Do you have any milk? では、それぞれどんな意味になりますか？

動詞 “do～”「～をする。」の使い方が今ひとつわかりません。 例えば、「あなたは、派手なパフォーマンスをしなければならない。」を英語にする場合、You have to do big performances.と言ったり、「私たちは打ち合わせをする。」が、We do meetings.ということは可能なのでしようか。（もちろん、preformという動詞があること、“hold meetings”や“have meetings”とう表現があることは知っています。） 要するに、「～をする。」を英語に訳す時に適当な動詞が思い浮かばなければ、“do ～”という動詞を使える（通じる）のでしょうか。

Saying that you were feeling sad because we had some very good and special times last year. You said you are bitter, and those are difficult words for me to hear. I realise that you have feelings, we all do. But I never made any commitments to you 君は私達が去年過ごした特別な楽しい思い出を、辛いと言ったけど、そういう言葉って聞いても僕には理解出来ないよ。君の気持ちはよく解かっている。we all do. 僕は君に何の約束しなかった。 このwe all doなのですが、皆そうだよ、他の女友達も同じだよ、と言っているのでしょうか？ それとも我々なのでしょうか、、理解出来ません。 教えてください。

but という語の使い方で，いくつか質問があります。 (1) 「しかし」という日本語で考えると，"～. But ..."のように，一度，文がピリオドで終わって，文頭で用いるのが自然な感じがします。しかし，このように But を文頭で用いるのは避けた方がいいということがしばしば言われます。日本で習う時には文頭で使っても問題ないと思いますし，実際，普通に用いられていますが，ネイティブスピーカーで「よくない」と言う人が時々います。実際のところ，But を文頭に用いるのはどのような感じなのでしょうか。堅いというのか，逆にくだけた感じなのか。日本語の「が」のようなもので，「～であるが，～」が普通で，「～。が，～」とするとあまりきれいではないが，間違いとまではいかない，という感じなのでしょうか。 (2) but を「しかし」と置き換えると，"～, but, we should ～のように，but の後にコンマを置いても問題ないと思ってしまいます。実際，時々用いられるのを見かけるのですが，私は違和感をおぼえます。皆さんはどう思われますか。ただし，but, in my opinion, we should ～のように，コンマで語句をくくるのは問題なく使えると思いますので，除きます。 (3) 以前，but for ～という表現が古い英語かどうかという質問をしましたが，この表現や，「～を除いて」という意味の前置詞として，but は用いられます。「しかし」という意味の but がこのような用法にもなるのが，イメージ的に理解できません。「それ」という意味の that が接続詞として that 節を作るようなもので，割り切って考えるしかないのでしょうか。not A but B「Aでなく，B」という使い方もありますが，そもそも，but の訳として「しかし」というのはあまりふさわしくないのでしょうか。 どれか１つでもいいですので，回答をお願いいたします。
