２は「彼が菅さんです」になりませんか？ His name is Naoto Kan のほうがいいと思いますが。 who is the Japanese prime minister? は基本的には「日本の総理大臣は誰ですか？」なので答えも「日本の総理大臣は菅さんです」になるべきという理論では１になりますが。まあ、100%の人が Mr Kan というと思います。

ありがとうございます。 実際の会話では多くの場合、Mr Kanまたは、Kan Naotoであろうことは大賛成です。 Who is that girl? -She is my sister.のような対話が中学英語では一般的です。中学生が構文を理解するという教育上の目的だけではなくて、実際の場面でも、イントネーションなどにもよりますが、My sister.とだけ答えるよりはやや丁寧な感じがするのは確かなように思います。首相のことを聞くのはこれと場合が異なるでしょうか。このように書いていると上の２つの質問は何か基本的に違うような気もしてまいりました。

文法の質問と理解します。答え方として Mr. Kan. が最も普通ですが、詳しく言うには Mr. Kan is the Japanese prime minister. です。 注：Who is the Japanese prime minister? が正しい質問です。the が必要です。

ありがとうございます。 The current Prime Minister of Japan is Mr. Kan, leader of the Democratic Party of Japan. 確かにこう言えばとても念が通ります。そうするとMr Kan.だけで済ませないで若干の丁寧さを出すためには、Mr. Kan is.が自然でしょうか。

あと、日本では姓だけを言うことが多いですが、英語ではフルネームを用いることが多いです。 Mr. Kan Naoto. （日本流には Mr. Naoto Kan. ですか）

慣用かどうか知りませんが、求められている情報は名前です。後はつけたり。 （３）を言うと、おしまいが雑音で消されても用は足りたわけですね。

Japanese prime minister の前に the がつきます。 実際には the prime minister of Japan とするのが普通です。 文法的には 1 か 3 ですが、現実には単に Mr. Kan. とするのが一番普通です。

ありがとうございます。 文法では、2はだめですか。 確かに、答えの核心はMr. kanなのでそれだけでいいのですが。やや丁寧な応対をしたいようなときにはどうなのでしょう。

英語「is to + 場所」 かなり初心者まるだしの質問かもしれないのですが…… he is to America のようにis to + 場所でどこどこに行くという意味だそうです。 このような表現は一般的でしょうか？ 構文的にはどのようになるのでしょうか。 よろしくお願いします。

どっちだってOKでしょうという回答になるのでしょうが， 間接疑問にするとき問題が発生します。 (1)主語 I don't know who is the captain. [私は誰がキャプテンなのかわからない。] (2)補語 I don't know who the captain is. [私はキャプテンが誰なのかわからない。] 日本語では容易に区別がつきますが 誰が・・・ キャプテンが・・・ 英語の場合 質問タイトルの英文だと区別がつかないので それを間接疑問にするとき？です。

He never got to know why he'll never live in peace in Turkey and why he's not allowed to speak out, in what we call "democratic Turkey" the cold murder NATO member who gets help and backup while feeding the worst enemy in a long time ISIS and also gets money for taking care of the refugees that's fleeing ISIS but instead they treat them like they were nothing and like they were the enemy who was making it over the border. And what do they spend the money on ? Killing what they call "the mountain Turks" the Kurds! No , this baby didn't even have the chance to flee with the boat, he got killed where he should been safe. ありがとうございます。 ご指摘のように、(1)が一番自然に感じるのですが、ただ難点といえば首相という明らかに人であるものをitで受けることに若干の抵抗を感じないでもないのです。
