No3です、追記。 then は「当時」ですね、すみません。 当時の権力者（王、女王）のパーツ（の長さ）がオフィシャルスタンダード、な感じで。

体の一部が測量単位だったって話ですか？ １文目のthen in powerって間違いではないですよね？？ この部分がうまく理解できないのですが、 「権力者（王や女王）の体の一部（手や足の長さ）が測量の基準となるので、権力者が変わるたびに基準となる長さも変わる」って内容になるかなと。 あいまいですみません。 ＊時代背景として、単位の基準が体のパーツ。（ヤード=腕の長さや、フィーと＝足の大きさ） それぞれの権力者が「新しい単位はヤード（腕の長さだ）」とか、「フィーと（足の大きさだ）」と決めるので、権力者が変わると、基準も変わる。
