和訳の仕方
この夏休みに英語の本を一冊読んでみようと思うのですが、 和訳が難しくてあまり進んでいません;; 和訳のちょっとしたコツややり方を教えてください あとこの文ってどう訳すんですか？ For a second they stood quite still wands directed at each other's chests; then,recognising each other ,they stowed their wands beneath their coalks and started walking briskly in the same direction. です。 あと、「；」と「，」の意味がいまいちわからんのですが、 この二つの記号はなんですか？ 返答よろしくお願いしますｍ（＿ ＿）ｍ

何年生の方で、どんな本を読もうとしているのでしょうか。 英語で本を読もうと思ったら、「和訳」などしていたら、時間はかかるし正確な意味はわからないしで、とてもできません。いちいち日本語に訳したりせずに全体の意味を把握しながら読んでいく練習が必要です。 こういうサイトを参考にされてはいかがでしょう。ごく簡単な本を使ってそういう読書をはじめることを勧めています。 http://www.seg.co.jp/sss/ 最初からむずかしいものに挑戦してもいいのですが、その場合もいちいち訳すのではなく、「何となく言っていることがわかる」程度でどんどん読み進むのが多読のコツだと思います。わからない単語があっても辞書は使わずに適当にとばします。日本語の本を読んでいて、ちょっと知らない漢字がでてきても、面白い小説ならいちいち辞書で調べたりせずに、続きを読もうとしますよね。それと同じ感覚です。 その場合、日本語訳を読んだことがあって、とても好きな小説ですと、英文の理解度が低くても日本語訳の記憶を頼りに読み進めることが可能です。よくわからない部分は日本語訳と見比べて、「あ、この英文はこういう意味になるんだ」とチェックするのも勉強になります。あまりやりすぎると読み進められなくなりますが。 また、ぶつぶつ口の中でつぶやくような形でもいいので、音読しながら読むのもコツのひとつです。音読することで意識が集中するし、戻り訳をしたりせずに、英文を英文のまま理解しようとする助けになります。むずかしくてわからない文章は、２度３度と繰り返し音読すると意味が何となく浮かんでくることがあります。 理解度は半分くらいでも、本１冊を何となく読めば、学習効果はありますので、試してみてください。大学受験の長文読解などにも役立ちます。 あげておられる英文は、写し間違いがあるのではないでしょうか。ちょっとわかりにくいところがあります。coalksは、おそらくcloaksの間違いでしょうね。だいたいの意味は、こんな感じでしょう。 一瞬の間、彼らは互いの杖を相手の胸に向けてじっと立ちすくんだ。そして、互いを認識すると、杖を外套の下にしまいこみ、楽しそうに同じ方向に歩き始めた。 wandは指揮棒のような短い棒のようなもので、日本語に置き換えると「棒」の方が正確ですが、ここでの使われ方から見て、ハリー・ポッターで使われているような短い魔法の杖ではないかと思います。魔法使いの話ですよね？ ひょっとしてハリー・ポッターの一部でしょうか。ただ、日本語で「杖」と言ってしまうと、通常はロード・オブ・ザ・リングでガンダルフが持っているような長い杖(staff)を連想すると思います。それとは別ものですので、「杖」と訳して理解するよりも、wandで短い魔法使いの杖を連想するほうが正確です。このように「訳す」のではなく英文をイメージとしてとらえて読めるようになることが大切です。 「;」と「,」はいずれも文の区切りです。「,」は文章は終わっていないけれど節として切れ目がある場合、「;」は、一応文が切れるけど「.」ほどはっきり切れずに次の文章と関わりがあるようなところで、使われるようです。でも、多読の際にはあまり深く考えない方がいいでしょう。実を言うと私も正確にはわかりません。でも、たくさんの本を読めば、感覚的にわかってきます。

They loan each other things, possessions, borrow or loss track possessions to each other, never sure which members of the family has it. Generous, they give each other small gifts.
