5-foot-8 and a size 2
I’ve been with my partner for 10 years. When we first started dating I was 5-foot-8 and a size 2, mostly because I was a poor single mother who couldn’t afford to go crazy with food and drink.

- do a showcase house
I graduated with a degree in interior design in 2008, the year of the crash. Because I couldn't get a job (I couldn't even get an interview), I started a website, was accepted to do a showcase house (a notable one at that!), and now have clients. do a showcase houseとはどのような意味でしょうか?

- four foot eleven
After dieting and exercising for a few weeks, I measured myself and was delighted to see I'd lost four inches. When my husband came home that night I told him. "Gee honey," he said. "What's that make you now-four foot eleven?"

- driven
I recently started talking to a man I met on an online dating site. He is attractive, well-educated, respectful, and driven; we hit it off and have talked for over a week. He informed me that he has a 5-year-old son from a previous relationship and I feel a little blindsided. I am a recent college graduate who just started her first salaried job, and I am worried that dating someone with a child is a little over my head. drivenはどのような意味でしょうか?

I just started dating a great guy. We’ve been out only a couple of times, but the spark is there. The trouble is that he has a bad background. His mom was an addict and his dad is in prison, and he bounced around from various troubled relatives until CPS intervened and put him in foster care. He was bounced from place to place and never bonded with anybody. He had a few brushes with drugs and the law, but nothing serious, had a few brushes with drugs and the lawの意味を教えてください。

I was supposed to have a meeting with Mr. Barlow this afternoon and I can't get in touch with him.

He tells me he loves me, I tell him I love him, and this has been going on for a year. Knowing I was doing wrong, and that he'd never leave his big-time breadwinning wife, I broke it off and had a date with a wonderful new man. My married friend turned up the charm, I couldn't resist, and we started all over again! turned up the charmの意味を教えてください。
