He said that not liking
He said that not liking to be alone is a sign of being unhappy with oneself but you can't say that if you've known someone for 24 hours. こちらは、どう訳したら、よろしいでしょうか。よろしくお願いいたします。

彼は、自分１人で居るのが嫌いなのは、自己嫌悪のしるしだと言う、でも、知り合って（たった）２４時間しか経っていない人に（ついて）そうは言えない。

こんにちは！ HARRY POTTER and the Prisoner of Azkaban[UK版]のp.172真ん中あたりの文に関してです。 "'You can't know that, Potter,' said Professor McGonall, quite kindly, 'not until you've flown it, at any rate, ........' " という文で 質問1”「You can't know」と一度notを使って否定しているのにその後また「not until」とnotを使っているのはなぜでしょうか？意味的には最初の「You can't know」のnotだけで十分な気がします。” 質問2”「not until you've flown it」と現在完了形になっているのはなぜでしょうか？現在形、もしくはwillを使って未来形で表しては駄目なのでしょうか？” 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

He is said to be a liar.（彼は嘘つきといわれている）という文章を能動態にするとどうなるのでしょうか？ 例えば： 受動態 He(主語） was taken to the park by me. 能動態 I take him(目的語) to the park. のように、通常、受動態の主語は能動態にすると動詞の目的語ですよね？ けど、 受動態 He(主語）is said to be a liar. をすなおに 能動態 Someone says him(目的語) to be a liar. (????) とするとおかしくなります。 なぜなら、say を使って say 目的語 to be ～ という言い方はできないですし。。。 よろしくお願いします。

It's only natural you (are being) upset after the way you've been treated. are beingが間違っているようなのですが、どうしてでしょうか？正解はshould be で、It is ～ that SVの構文においてshould が用いられることがあるのは知っているのですが、ここのthat は省略可能でしたか？いけなかったような記憶があるのですが。どなたかよろしくお願いします。

He gave the man a sweet. ‟What is that thing?” he said. ‟You lock people up in it,” said the man. ‟You can't lock people in that,” said kipper. ‟You can't get them in” ‟Oh yes you can ” said the man. ‟Look” という英文に出くわしました。上から６番目の、 ‟Oh yes you can ”の意味がよくわかりません。 なぜ、相手が‟You can't get them in” と言っているのに、 それを受けて‟Oh yes you can ”と答えているのでしょうか。 どなたか、教えては下さいませんでしょうか？ 宜しくお願いいたします。

似たようなシチュエーションの2つのダイアログがあります。 1. Doctor: You are a hypochondriac. Woman: Not taht as well! 2. Black man: Recently, I've bee wrestling with my identity. Psychotherapist: Does your being black have anything to do with it? Black man: Jesus - not that as well. ２つともどうやら笑い話のようなのですが、どこが可笑しいのでしょうか？ "Not that as well" とはどういう意味なのでしょうか？ どなたかご教示ください。

会話の"I have to study." を直すと He said he had to study. というようになる間接話法の中の文なのですが、 そこで "I'm excited about my new job. I've found a nice apartment." を直すと答えが She said she was excited about her new job and (that she) had found a nice apartment. と書いてありました。 ( )の中の文は省略できるようなのですが、もし省略しないときにthat she で、she はだいたいなぜぞこにあるのか理解できたのですが、thatはなんの役目なのでしょうか？ どうもandの後にthat くるのがよくわかりません。 あともう一つ、文章を書くときの : と ; の違いと使い方がよくわかりません。;の場合の文で I had too much dinner; however, I am hungry now. のような；の使い方は理解できたのですが、他はどのようなときに使うのですか？また、：はどのようなときに使うのですか？ 分かりにくい文章ですみません。 よろしくお願いします。
