Moreover, (it is especially relevant) that the kingdoms, empires, and societies of the Late Bronze Age Aegean and East Meditarenian (can each be seen as an indivisual sociopolitical system.) 構造というより、意味が良く取れません。relevant: 関連がある？ be seen as: ～のように見られる。？ 2.( For a problem)( to be a potential candidate for a complexity theory approch,) Johnson stated that ( it has to involve a system that contains a collection of many interacting objects or agents.) 最初のカッコは主語で、2番目は述語ですか？ 副詞句ですか？ 3番目のカッコは、involve,contain似たような動詞で意味が取れません。 よろしくお願いします。

質問は２つです。 "He chose a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans over getting that equipment out into the homeland as fast as possible." http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/08/debate.transcript2/index.html このページの青に白抜きの"RELATED"の左側あたりです。 "He chose a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans" "as fast as possible" これだけはわかりますが全体の構造が今ひとつわからないので意味も取れません。 文の構造を解説くださってもいいですし、または意味を教えてくださるとそこから自然に構造がわかるでしょう。どちらの方法でもいいので教えてください。 もう一つ、"that equipment"は cargo hold をX線検査する装置のことでしょうか。

こんにちは。 訳についていくつか質問したいです。 文の構造を教えてもらえると、さらにありがたいです。 Such tax revenues could be used to [fund] alternative energy development or the improvement of current technologies so that they do not release so much CO2 into the atmosphere. [fund]の部分が特に難しく、文の構造も複雑で、うまく訳すことが出来ません so that が入っており、ますます複雑に感じます。。 This means [storing] carbon rather than releasing it into the atmosphere. １「we are inclined to look upon ourselves as the products of a growth from within, upon the unfolding of our personality as something that would have been the same on the Robinson Crusoe's manless island as it has been in the particular social environment of which we are a part.」 まず上の文について質問です。we～somethingまではわかるのですがsomethingにかかるthat～partまでの構造が全くわかりません。学校の先生は仮定法だと言っていたのですがifも見当たらないですし・・・。 ２「we can hardly be too often reminded, though it may be a well-known fact, that there was once a man named Socrates between whom and the legal authorities and public opinion of his time there took place a memorable collision.」 次に上の文についてなのですがこれは最初の方からほとんどわからない状態です。 最初は「私たちはほとんどよく思い出すことができることはない、それはよく知られている事実だけれど、昔ソクラテスという名前の男がいて～」でいいでしょうか？ その後はほとんどわかりません。 わからない点は ・between whom の後に何でandが来るのか？ ・thereは主語になるのか？ の二点です。 先生に聞けばいいのですが、授業が終わった後は行列ができていていつも聞けずに時間切れになってしまうので質問しました。 よろしくお願いします。

いつも丁寧な解説有難うございました。relevantは、なかなかうまい訳が無く、漠然とするので、”重要である”が適切なのが分かりました。 また、For＋Noun to+Vとあると、NounがVすると訳すのかと思っていましたが、”問題が潜在的な候補たり得る為に” ではなく、この場合は toが形容詞的にproblem に掛かっていくわけですね。この本に関しては、これで終わりですが、お陰様で本当にいろいろ得る所があり、難しい本を読みこなせる自信が付きました。有難うございました、今後もよろしくお願いします。
