ある本に載っていた英文で
Typically, the same farm may have a different pattern the next year of which crops are grown in which fields.
（一般的に、同じ農場では、次の年にどの作物をどの農地に育てるかについては異なるパターンになっている）
という訳がついているようです。

ここで (a) pattern which crops are grown in which fields の部分について。

１　pattern of ～「～のパターン」「～というパターン」「～についてのパターン」という大枠で
which crops are grown in which fields が間接疑問文（名詞節）となって，of に続いている。

X crops are grown in Y fields という元の文で X，Y を同時に尋ねる。
普通，疑問詞は前に出るが，Y の部分は前に出しようがなく，
which crops are grown in which fields となる。
（ここは what でなく，which と決めておきます）
which crops で主語だから，間接疑問文も同じ語順。

２　patten が先行詞で，of which ～以下が関係代名詞節として修飾。

patten という先行詞に対して，

内容はともかく，when and where のような２つの疑問詞は普通です。
まあ，質問の趣旨とは変わってきましたが，which は１つにして

Tell me about which crops are mine.
Inform me of which crops are mine.

といういたって普通の英語を f さんに正しいと理解してもらうことを考えてきました。
反応がないのはまだ理解できないのか，理解できて，なのかわかりません。

限定詞（形容詞）でないパターンでも
know what is good のような英語を
know (that) what is good 的に感じる。

know の後は (that) をはさんで（省略可）SV
この SV と what is good を同じ SV と思っている。

でも know that what is good とは決してならない。

what is good のような間接疑問文は名詞節であって，文ではない。
「何がよいのか」という名詞のかたまりでしかなく，

know (that) this is good のような
This is good. がれっきとした文とは違う。

むずかしい理屈はわかりませんが、どう考えても１です。２にしちゃうと「in which fields」が意味不明になります。

最初の of which は関係代名詞で無理やりでも説明できても，
後の which fields がある，ということは前の質問で #14 のところで指摘しました。

f さんから反応がないので，この場をお借りします。
Tell me of which crops are mine.
of はちょっと無理がありますが，
Tell me about which crops are mine.
ならいいでしょうし，
inform me of which crops are mine なら同じ形です。

これで正しい，とはわかりました？
こういう質問を投げかけておいて，別の方向に行ったからトーンダウンと申し上げたのです。

限定詞という言い方は which/any/whatever のような語がプラス名詞で用いられる場合の呼び名です。
疑問詞だろうが，関係詞だろうが，両方を含めてです。
そして，my crops are grown in my fields と
which crops are grown in which fields （which が２つあると紛らわしいので，
my/which は両方 the と置き換えて無視してもいいです）
これは大きな違いがある。

実は関係形容詞 , in which case という場合は and を補って
and in this case みたいになるので，the/my と変わらない，となってしまいますが
疑問形容詞，疑問詞としての限定詞 which の場合は，確実に違います。

これまでさまざまな質問で f さんとぶつかってきたかなりのものはここに問題があった
ことがようやくわかりました。

A　of　B　と言えば、一般論としてAがCoreとなる名詞でAが単数か複数かで動詞が決まってくる。しかし、AとBが同格の場合もある。仮に、

the next year of crops　are

と言えるならば、

the next year of their crops are grown in their fields.

はトーンダウンにはならないはず。

この”the next year”と冠詞のつかない”next year”の違いは前者は前に前置詞を伴うが後者は前置詞を伴わず副詞として使うと思いますが間違っていますか？もし来年を挿入句または副詞句として主文に入れたいのなら

or
the same farms may have a different pattern, next year, of which crops are grown in which fields.

自分なら次の様に訳します。
（一般的に、同じ農場では、次の年にどの作物をどの農地に育てるかについては異なる”方策をとっている”。）　
連作は土の体力をなくするので避け、マメ科のものを植えて根粒菌などの力で元気にする。などの様に次に植える作物に影響が無いか、いい影響を与える植え方をします。

have a different pattern 　の　pattern 　は　strategy　の意味合いが強いですね。

そういう人もいるのですが，実際には的確な日本語訳から逃げています。

確かにこの pattern は「方策」的な意味。
辞書的には「傾向，方向」でしょうか。

そもそもこの of は大きく，pattern of ～で「～のパターン」となっているのに，
pattern の後に that を置いたら何にもならない。

know の後だろうが
of の後だろうが

know / which crops are mine
of / which crops are mine
正しいのは同じことです。

だから，日本式に which crops are mine で間接疑問文（名詞節）とやるか，
コウビルド英英辞典のように，こういう疑問詞は conunction「接続詞」とするか。

of which crops / で終わりなどでなく，
of which crops are grown と続けられる，というか続けないとだめ。

/the next year of which crops/ これでかたまり，are grown が続く，ではなく，
the next year/ of / which crops are grown

know which crops are mine これが正しいとはわかるんですよね？

もしかして，この know の後に SV が来ているのを
know (that) SV と同じで know (that) which crops are mine だから可，

根っこは同じだと思いますが，which が限定詞，これだけだと永遠に解決しません。

which を the とか any, my と置き換えられる，ではだめです。

これは単に my → which というだけの問題じゃない。

上は文だけど，下は節。

of my crops are good とは言えないけど
of which crops are good とは言えるのです。

同じ限定詞で my と which でのこの違い。

この違いの説明は難しいです。
説明が難しいだけで，確実に正しいことです。

検索はお得意のようですから，自分の考えた文を検索するだけじゃなく，
(remind/reminds/reminded) me/us of which ones/名詞の複数形 are
とかで検索してみたらわかりますよ。

are を入れるとかなり少なくなるかもしれません。
お得意だと思うからいろいろやれば使われていることがわかるでしょう。

前に,windyさんがhave no idea whatの完結節は間違いと主張されていたので、何を言っているのか理解ができませんでした。

tell me a different pattern of that節が来るのでthat＋what節であろうがwhich節であろうがどんな節がきても構わないということなんだ。

ならば
tell me a different pattern of ” which crops are mine？”

と言いたかったんですね。

Which crops are grown in which field?
を直接話法になおしても語順が変わらない。
故に。
Tell me a different pattern of which crops are grown in which field.
となる。
have no idea that の後にどんな節が来ようが問題なし。

ならば、関係代名詞として処理をするよりもスンナリしているのではないかがspsさんの回答になりますか・・・

こういう「名詞節」というまとまりを日本では間接疑問文として
何の問題もなく使えると理解するのです。

だから，誰もが最初から
pattern of 名詞（のかたまり）と言っているのです。

　　　　もう訳はあるし、僕の出る幕ではありませんが、まあ寝言を一つ。

　　　　２より１がいいように思います。理由はこの which は、関係代名詞では無いと思うからです。下記等では英語版でも米語板でも出ている　which is which　という慣用句の敷衍的もじりとも見られ、文法の問題と言うよりは、日本語の「どっちがどっちか」みたいな、語彙的な問題のように思います。

最初の which も後の which も同じで「どの～」と意味が出ている通りです。

疑問詞が２ど使われている点も，確かに問題ではあります。

副詞同士なら when and where とまとめてできても，
which crops で主語，
in which fields は副詞句，
なので，こういう形にせざるを得ません。
