映画やドラマ、アニメを音読すると英語の力は上がる？
- 映画やドラマ、アニメを音読することで英語の力を上げる方法について悩んでいます。
- 字幕なしで見る→字幕アリで見る→字幕を訳する→何度か繰り返す→音読（シャドーイング）するという方法を試していますが、シャドーイングがとても難しいです。
- この方法で勉強している意味があるのか、続けても価値があるのか不安です。

字幕なしで見る→字幕アリで見る→字幕を訳する→何度か繰り返す→音読（シャドーイング）する という順番でやろうとしていたのですが、 「シャドーイングする」ことがとても難しいです。 But it's still so darn hot out, I wish we could stay in our summer uniforms a little longer. I wish they'd let us pick when to switch 'cause it's still cold when they make us change back to our summer uniforms. この文をシャドーイングするのに、１５～２０分もかかりました。 そこで質問ですが、この方法で勉強するのは私にとってあまり意味ありませんか？ 粘って続けたら価値があるでしょうか？

映画のシャドーイングは、あまり効果がありません。 中級者以下にとっては難し過ぎますし、上級者にとっても間が空きすぎて、練習効果が少ないと思います。 その点、アメリカやイギリスのテレビドラマは英語がつぎつぎに語られるので、よい教材が多いと思います。アニメは、口の形が見えないという欠点を持っているとともに、声優がわざと妙な声を出したりしているので、中級者以下にはおすすめできません。 ただし、日本のアニメの吹き替え版などは面白いので、いいかもしれません。特にルパン三世など面白いと思います。ジブリ映画もまあ、間が空くところがありますが、いいかと思います。 シャドーイングは、かなりレベルの低い教材でやるべきです。中学高校で言うと、2学年下のレベルと言っておきましょう。知らない単語が少ない、ほとんどないものを選ぶべきです。ただし、初めて聞くものでやるのがシャドーイングですから、あなたは最初字幕なしで見たり、いろいろやった後に「シャドーイング」と称するものをしているようですが、それは本当の意味でシャドーイングではありません。初めて聞く教材でやるのが本物だと思って下さい。ことに、文字でおっかけてしまってはシャドーイングでないのもよろしいでしょうか。あなたの耳だけをたよりにはじめてのものを聞くーーそれこそシャドーイングです。 私もかなり訓練を積んでいますので、アメリカのニュースとか、何とかシャドーイングをしますが、（１００％は無理ですが）、あなたには難しいでしょうね。何とかついていけるならやる効果もあるでしょうが。 そこで質問ですが、この方法で勉強するのは私にとってあまり意味ありませんか？ →シャドーイングは、聞いた時間だけかかるものです。繰り返したり、止めたりしてやるものではありません。あなたのシャドーイングは、教材のレベルが高過ぎだと思います。 粘って続けたら価値があるでしょうか？ →まず、文字を見て「シャドーイングもどき」をやるのもよいでしょう。あるいは、ディクテーションなども効果があります。そして、何よりも、簡単な英語でシャドーイングをしっかりやっていくことです。 以上、ご参考になればと思います。

First of all they don't have the legal right to call themselves STP because I'm still a member of the band. And more importantly, they don't have the ethical right to call themselves Stone Temple Pilots because it's misleading and dishonest to the millions of fans that have followed us for so many years.
