こんにちは 私は、後者だと思います。 I didn't think that / it is～. SVOで考えるとわかりやすいかも。 S= I V = don't think O = that でthat は何かを後の分で説明するので it is important for us. がひと固まりですよね。 しかも、thatは、 I didn't think it is important for us.のように 省こうと思えば省いても文にできるので、 文と文をつなぐフックのようなものでありながら 前半の分を単独でも文として成り立たせているので、 thatの前では切るとつんのめった感じの話し方になり、聞きにくくなります。 ちょっと無理やりですが日本語の口調表現すると I didn't think / that it is～. それって大事、 って思わない。 I didn't think that / it is～. それって大事だとは、思わない。 のような感じでうけとれるのですが どうでしょうか。

友達に送るメールを書くとき、 「正直あなたがメール（it)を返してくれるとは思っていませんでした」とします。 そのとき、どのように書いたらいいでしょう？ 馬鹿でもわかるように教えてください。。 とりあえずこんなふうに書いてみたんですが・・・ I didn't think that you answered it 「正直」（honest with？）をどこに入れたらいいかわかりません。 その前にこの文章自体があってるのかもわかりません。 この文章があっているのか、「正直」をどこに入れるのか、なぜそこなのか知りたいです。 お願いします。

Maybe she is a very possessive person. She might be mad because you didn't ask her. well, I think she is pretty possessive. But she wouldn't get that mad over something so pointless. ここでのthatはyou didn't ask herですよね？ だとするとover以下と同じ事を言っている気がするのですが、 なぜshe wouldn't get mad over something so pointless.と発言しないのでしょうか？ここでthatを入れるのはどの様な感覚からでしょうか？
