totalは、「完璧な」の意味がありますが、後ろの名詞を修飾する限定用法が基本です。たいていの辞書には、普通はそういう使い方である旨、記載があります。 be動詞などの後に1語で置かれるような、叙述用法としては、あまり使いません。英辞郎のような口語表現も含めた用例が非常に多い辞書に、小数見つかったりはします。 あえて、お示しのような叙述用法で使っていることについて、二つ可能性が考えられます。 一つは台詞ですから、当然口語的だということで、そういう使い方をしてみたというようなことです（口癖とも考えられます）。 もう一つは、totalの後に不可算または単数扱いの集合名詞が来るのだけれど、あえてそこで台詞を止めたという演出です。日本語で言えば「馬鹿な、心理操作は全部」で口ごもり、ショックを受けた感じを出そうとしたということです。

＞totalに完璧のいみはあるのでしょうか？ ありますし、結構、使われていますが、 total自体、ほとんど、total + 名詞、という形の、 名詞を修飾する用法で使われる言葉なので、 ご質問の文のように、be total、と補語として 使われる例は、見たことはありますが、 珍しい方だと思います。 単なる勉強不足なのかもしれませんが、 補語として使われている用例で、 普通の、合計や総和の意味で使われている ケースはみたことがないので (形容詞としては、ということです。名詞ならいくらでもあるのはご存じの通り) ひょっとしたら、形容詞として補語になるときは、「完全」の方、 だと思ってもいいのかもしれません。
