Because every mother loves chocolate. これを聞いて「地震を止めるためにお供え物かよ！、、しかもお供え物が、チョコとスリッパ、、。」と思い大爆笑したのですが、、、今頃になって、なんで、、chocolate and slippersだったのかな？ と思い検索してみると、"chocolate and slippers"で503,000件もヒットします。（ちなみに"チョコとスリッパ"では殆どヒットしません。） 例文を読んでみると、、chocolate and slippersは、もしかすると日本で言うところの「焼き芋とコタツ」に相当するのでしょうか？（まだ寒いですし、、。） 「（最近ご機嫌ナナメの）オカンとの仲直りに「焼き芋とコタツ」をば献上するとです。 やっぱ、オカン（のご機嫌取り）には「焼き芋」（が一番）やね。」のニュアンスと考えて良いのでしょうか？ よろしくお願いします。

チョコレートについてはどんな女の子もプレゼントにもらうと大喜びをしてしまいますので、お母さんを喜ばせるのにも良く使います。ダイエットをしている女の子に一番食べたいのは？と聞くとモデルさんのようなプロでもチョコレートが食べたいといいます。お母さんも、ぜひチョコレートが食べたい！ スリッパですが、これは、特にクリスマス時にお母さんにプレセントが決まらない場合の奥の手です。特に男の子からお母さんには、香水もネグリジェもちょっと生々しいので、スリッパは、お父さんに送るネクタイと同じ役割をします。普通は暖かい素材で、ラウンジウェアーを着て家でくつろぐ時に家ではく、室内履きのことで、典型的なものを捜してみました。日本のスリッパとはちょっと違いますね。 http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/503444 焼き芋とコタツは知りませんでした。関西のネタですか？
