下記では1659頃の諺集にあるそうです。 　http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_work_and_no_play_makes_Jack_a_dull_boy 1825年には第２行も加えられています。 　All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,（勉強ばかりして遊ばないと退屈な少年になる） 　All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy.（遊んでばかりいて勉強しないとただの少年になる）
