1.経費削減の一つとして、その会社は3000人の従業員を解雇しました。 3,000 workers at the company are lay off as a cost-cutting. 　　やはり日本語が能動態なので英文も能動態がいいでしょう 　　The company laid off 3000 employees as one plan of cost reduction. 2.多くの人々が経済危機のために仕事を失いました。 Many people are out of work due to economic crisis. 日本語が失ったことを強調しているので状態ではなく、行為を意味させて Many people lost their jobs due to economic crisis. 3.商店側は、売上げを増加させるためにクリスマスシーズンに期待しています。 Stores are counting on Christmas season for sales increase. 　　Stores are looking forward to a Christmas season for sales increase. 4.台風に対する警告が湾岸地域に出されました。 A typhoon warning issue coastal area. 日本語が受動態なので 　　The warning of a typhoon was issued in the coastal area. 5.地元の住民は原子力発電所の建設に反対しています。 Local residents oppose a nuclear power planet. 状態を意味させて 　　　Local residents are against the nuclear power plant construction.

1.経費削減の一つとして、その会社は3000人の従業員を解雇しました。 　3,000 workers at the company are lay off as a cost-cutting. cost-cutting は、非加算名詞ですから a が使えません。lay は、他動詞の現在形か、自動詞 lie　の過去形です。受け身なら laid が正しいです。ここでは受動態にする必要はないと思います。 　The company laid off three thousand employees as a cost-cutting measure とも。 2.多くの人々が経済危機のために仕事を失いました。 　Many people are out of work due to economic crisis. 　Because of the economic crisis many lost jobs とも。 3.商店側は、売上げを増加させるためにクリスマスシーズンに期待しています。 Stores are counting on (the) Christmas season for sales increase.（定冠詞以外バッチリです） Store owners are looking forward to the Christmas season for increased sales. とも 4.台風に対する警告が湾岸地域に出されました。 　A typhoon warning (was) issue(d) (in the) coastal area. 5.地元の住民は原子力発電所の建設に反対しています。 　Local residents oppose a nuclear power planet. If the gotten subsidy is not exhausted, the subsidy is decreased from the age of entertainment. Therefore, the subsidy is tried even if it exhausts it by unnecessary construction. This road works concentrate in February from November. Fourth, it problem is Tohoku earthquake. Economic shock due to the Tohoku earthquake is very large. The economy of Japan and industry do not operate and cannot be restarted. The nuclear plant has destroyed it. The trust of Tokyo Electric Power Company swings by the influence, and the credibility to Japanese businesses and the stock has weakened. The economy of Japan will not recover at a dash.
