thoseの用法
He was among those cohsen. 「選ばれた人たちの中に彼は入っていた。」 解説にはthose people (who were) chosenと書かれていたのですが、辞書にはthe person (who are) presentと書かれていました。peopleの有無は何なのですか。解説をお願いします。

those present = the persons (who are/were) present「出席者たち」だと思います。そうでないと単数と複数が合いません。また文全体が過去形なら were です。people も persons も複数の人です（こういう場合 people の方が普通です）。 those people (persons) who were chosen については those は「その、あの」と指しているわけではなく、関係代名詞で限定されるから付いているもので、意味的には the と変わりません。 関係節が受け身や進行形の場合、「関係代名詞＋be」の部分は省略可能なことが多く（分詞の後置修飾になる）、*those people chosen のような形だった段階があったことが考えられます。それが those chosen とか those present のように people が省略されるに至ったのですが、確かに those は人にもものにも使えるので people がなければ「人」であるとは言い切れないわけです。それでも those present/chosen が人を表すのは慣用によると言えるでしょう。 those who...「…する人たち」という表現がありますが、こちらは who があるので人であることが明らかです。people や persons の省略というより those who から who+are/were を省略した、という意識かもしれません。

タイトルにある文をうまく英訳出来なくて困っております。 人から...と言われて → told by other people that... 似ている → look like 一番嬉しかった → you were most glad 有名人 → famous person 誰 → who 一応自分で繋げてみました。 Who is the famous person (???) you were most glad when you were told by other people that you look like? これでは英語になっていないですよね。どなたか、正しい訳し方を教えてください。
