クリスマスケ－キを売っています。
友達のからI know Christmas is not so important in Japanと書いてあったので、この時期はケ－キ屋でクリスマス・ケ－キってものを売っているのよ。と書いたのですが、 Many cake shop selling what we call "Xmas cake” in this season. この場合、どこかに冠詞かＳをつけた方がよいでしょうか？

こんにちは。 その文でも、通じないことはないですが、すこし直してみましょう。 ケーキショップは一軒、二軒とカウントできるので、 「Many cake shops」にしましょう。 また、「売っている」は進行形ではないので、「sell」でいきましょう。 複数のケーキショップについて話しているので、三単元のｓは不要です。 今度は少し、見方を変えてみましょう。 「クリスマスの時期にはケーキショップではクリスマスケーキと呼ばれる特別なケーキが売られています。」とすると、 In Christmas season, a lot of cake shops have special cakes for this season. We call this "Xmas Cake". でもいいと思いますよ。 haveは非常に便利です。

英語圏のお友達に説明するのだったら、クリスマスケーキをケーキ屋さんで売っているというよりも、クリスマスケーキをケーキ屋さんで買うことができるといった方がいいと思います☆ "We can buy so-called, "X'mas cakes", at most bakeries in Japan around this time of the year." お友達がどこの国に住んでいるのかわからないけど、ケーキ屋さんというものがなくて、クロワッサンなどのパンなども売っているお店でケーキを買うようなお国に住んでいるとしたら、"cake shops" "bakeries"と言った方がいいかもね☆

よく英語で、 He talks about why it is important. We talked about who was in the room. という言い方がありますが、 文法の意味がよく分かりません。 例えば、 We talk about what is in the box. なら、what=things thatに置き換えられますが、 これとは、ちょっと違うような 気がします。 接続詞thatが省略されているのかとも 思えますが。 どのように、考えたらいいのでしょうか。
