purunuさん、早速のお返事ありがとうございます。 実は仕事の依頼は以前面接に行った会社からで、面接時に受けたテストがＰＣに関することでした。そのため、私は今回のテストもＰＣに関係していることとばかり思い色々検索しておりました。 実際、単に私の英語のレベルを知るためにということで文章を提示されました。たまたまそこの会社は色々な分野の翻訳を手がけております。 purunuさんと回答者２番(bobo_0827)さんのお答えを見て、現在とっても恥ずかしい思い出一杯です。 vehicleが「車両」という意味なのは分かっておりましたが、きっとＩＴ関係でもこのような言葉を使うことがあると勝手に解釈しました。 以前も「日本語の色」の翻訳を頼まれたことがあります。日本人だし英語がある程度できるなら翻訳ができるでしょうとこちらの国の方に思われがちですが、翻訳は大変難しい仕事だと本当に思います。 今回も会社側からは正しい日本語訳の結果をみせてもらえないと思いますので、今回こちらでアドバイスいただけたことは感謝します。 ありがとうございました。
