この文章について。
such people injulge themselves in such things as consumer goods and vacations which they could otherwise not afford with the presence of children.(そのような人たちは、こどもがいれば買う余裕のないような商品や取ることのできないであろう休暇といったものを好きなだけ楽しんでいるのである）という文で、何故couldの後にotherwiseがくるのかわかりません。 これは正しい文であるのでしょうか？ 教えてください。 よろしくお願いします。

Such people indulge themselves in such things as consumer goods and vacations これが主語で ■they could not afford with the presence of children. 子供がいれば買う余裕が無い、楽しむ余裕が無いるモノ これだけなら至極単純そのもの 事を少し面倒にしているのは <otherwise> - さもなくば ■で「余裕がない、余裕がない無い」と否定している文脈なのに、本来は不必要な「otherwise」が覆い被し的に挿入されているので、話がややこしくなっています。 つまり、「もし余裕が無ければ」を強調して言っているに過ぎないと解釈しました。

otherwise は「もしそうでなかったら」という意味で， 「現実にはこのような状況なのだが，もしその状況でなかったならば」 という仮定法で用いられることが多いです。 ここで「現実の状況」はおそらく，この文の前に表されているはずです。たとえば，such people というのは莫大な遺産を相続した人々であるなど。 そして，「もしそのような遺産がないならば，子どもの存在とともに（→子どもがいる上に）買ったり取ったりすることができないだろうような」とつながっていきます。 この文だけなのでしょうか。もし前の文があればご確認ください。

injulgeのところはindulgeが正しいと思いますけど、他はおそらく正しい文だと思いますよ。 otherwiseは「もし、そうでなければ」の意味の副詞です。 ここでは子供がいない人々の話をしているので、その文脈から、「（その人たちには子供がいないが）もしそうでなく、子供がいたら、買う余裕が無いような・・・」のような意味になっています。 with the presence of childrenのところと意味的にダブっており、otherwiseがなくても充分意味が通るので、少し分かりにくくなっているかもしれません。

Placing opposite characters in fairy tale makes it easier for children to understand the difference between the two, which they could not do as easily were the figures true to life, with all the complexities that characterize real people. 上記の文の、which they could not doの箇所ですが、 which=the difference they=children do=understand だと判断したのですが、正しいでしょうか? また、with all the complexitiesの箇所ですが、 ジーニアスの辞書によると、 「with all the・・・」で「・・・があるので」という理由を表すとのことが書いてあるので、そのような解釈が十分可能だとは思うのですが、 私は辞書を読む前に「with all the・・・」をwere the figures true to life（人物像が現実に忠実であれば）の補足説明として、「人物像が現実に忠実、すなわち実在の人物を特徴付ける複雑さを持っているのであれば」と訳したのですが、 それだと、訳はいいとして、allがついている理由が分からなくなりました。 正しい解釈を教えてください。
