個人的見解ですが、・・・"in the hot summer months" に少し違和感を覚えました。 "the" がつくと、"暑い夏はいつも" といった感じがします。 たまたま、いい事例を見つけました。"in the hot summer months" と "in summer months" を使い分けています。 "真夏は必ず" と "夏の間は" くらいの意味の違いですが、英語のニュワンスではかなり違うと思います。 ---- WATER: Nobile -type orchids require a drastic change in their watering schedule from summer to winter. This is the festival celebrating the end of winter.（これは冬の終わりを祝う祭りです） これは中三英語教科書に載っている例文です。 celebratingは現在分詞で the festival を修飾しているのですが、 ということは、the festival を主語にした The festival celebrates the end of winter. という無生物主語の文はOKでしょうか？ またinteresting（面白い）はinterest（～の興味を引く）の現在分詞だとしたら This is a book interesting me. （これは私の興味を引く本だ） という文も問題ないでしょうか。
