英語長文の問題集でこんな表現に遭遇しました。 The journalists storongly said that in a world if 24-hour news on the Internet and cable television, they could never compete effectively at being the first to inform the public of the latest events. なお原文をそのまま引用するとまずいので、主語、動詞、時制などに変更を加えてます。 自分がどうしてもわからないのは、in a world if 24-hour news on the Internet and cable televsion. の部分です。ifが節構造を持たずに名詞だけを従えています。意味は「インターネットやケーブルテレビで２４時間いつでもニュースを見られる世界では」となんとなくわかるのですが、ifの働きがわからないとどうもすっきりしません。 ちなみに、henceという単語は、 Tomy said nothing, hence her anger (came). という風に後ろの動詞（comeなど）を省略して用いる用法がありますが、このifもこれと同じような使い方がされているのでしょうか？つまり後ろに動詞が省略されているのでしょうか？ お時間がある時で構いませんのでよろしくお願いします。

"in a world of 24-hour news..." の誤植でしょう。 2番の方も言っている通り。 それ以外あまり考えられません。

皆さん こんにちは 孔子が言った下記の名言の和訳を探していますが、なかなか見つからなくて、困っています。もし和訳があれば答えていただけないでしょうが。 If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Some NGOs conduct research and then tell journalists what they have discoverd. Others get famous people to support them(rather like advertisers do). Still others organise large public demonstrations and protests in the hope that news organisations will report on them for that reason. 以上の文と、 For example,Amnesty's web site gives detailed information on human rights in most countries arond the world. の訳がうまくできません・・・。特にsome,others,still othersはどう表現すればいいのか・・・。 皆様助言お願いします！
