いつもお世話になっております。 早速ですが質問です。 下記文章があります。--------------------------------------------- Books can be found in the supply cabinet with the file folders. 訳-------------------------------------------------------------- 本は、ファイルフォルダーが入っている消耗品のキャビネットの中にあります。 ちょっとタイトルの書き方が、おかしかったかもしれませんが、ご勘弁ください。 「the supply cabinet」の中に「the file folders」があります。 なので、何となく「with the file folders」が、 「in the supply cabinet」の後ろに置かれているのに少し違和感を覚えました。 この並びは当たり前なのでしょうか？ 回答、宜しくお願いします。

こういう前置詞句の並びはどちらに強調が置かれるか、という点もありますし、 あと、動詞との関連性の強さによります。 ここでは in the supply cabinet という場所が、can be found という動詞と関連性が強いのです。 The animal can be found only in Australia. のように、 どこで見られるか、という表現と同じで、どこで be found なのか。 そのつながりの後に、with the file folders「ファイルフォルダーとともに」見つかる 確かに、the file folders は the supply cabinet の中にあるので、 the file folders in the supply cabinet として 「キャビネットの中にあるファイルフォルダー」とすることもあります。 でも、ここではそういうことを言っているのではありません。

英語は基本的に後置修飾の言葉です。 どんな cabinet なのかを with the file folders が修飾しています。 ただ、意味を伝える上で重要な情報は cabinet ではなく、file folders なのです。新人さんが以前に file folder をどこかの cabinet から取り出したのですが、book のある場所がどこなのかが分かりません。それを教えてあげるには with the file folders を付けたすと、質問している新人さんはとても助かるのです。 後置修飾の「後置」には、重要な語句を後回しにして、相手の印象に残りやすくする働きがあります。

以下の文章の中で、 “File cabinets” (sometimes called“filing cabinets,” they’re the same thing) are large – typically large pieces of furniture that have big drawers in them – boxes, if you will, that pull out and you can put into them pieces of paper that are put into cardboard files. 最後の方の you can put into them pieces of paper that are put into cardboad files. の themとpieces 以下がどうして続いているのかがわかりません。 関係代名詞が省略されているとも思えないのですが、 たとえば、into＋名詞の位置を後ろに移動したとすれば you can put pieces of paper that are put into cardboad files into them(boxesを指す) と意味も取れるのですが、 これはinto ,intoと続いて紛らわしいのでinto them を移動したのでしょうか。 よろしくお願いいたします。

昨日までなんともなかったのですが、急におかしくなったので教えて下さい いつも画像を“Photo Editor”で開いていましたが、開こうとすると “No file format information can be found in the registry”と出てきて 開けなくなりました！ 昨日から調子は悪く上にある“ファイル”“表示”などが全て英語になってしまっていました。 ここのカテゴリーで検索して皆さんの回答を読ませて頂きまして １．jpgファイル（どれでも良いです）を一旦クリック ２．Shiftキーを押しながら、右クリック ３．メニューの「アプリケーションから開く」をクリック ４．リストの中からPhotEditorを探す。リストになければ「その他」をクリックして、PhotEditorの実行ファイル場所を指定する。 ５．「この種類の～」にチェックを入れてＯＫする。 この通りしてみましたが駄目でした。 No file format information can be found in the registryの意味も全くわかりません。 どうしたらよいのか教えて下さい！宜しくお願いいたします。

First, thanks to it, we can communicate with foreigners and contact with foreign cultures. In that way, we can have wide discrimination. If we contact with foreign cultures, we may notice importance and essentially of own culture. But, we may feel foreign culture is better than ours. If so, our culture becomes outdated. Second, the Internet, which is a factor of globalization, brings information of all over the world to us. If we use the Internet, we can get information in many languages. Also, if we ask questions on it, somebody who is sitting in front of PC answers them in about an hour. But, with the spread of the Internet, reading books may become less important. Books have value that the Internet doesn’t have. If books disappear from the world, cultures may also disappear because books are full of the country’s language, idea and knowledge. Finally, globalization’s merits are also globalization’s demerits.

日本語が； 「回路図の中にそれらしきものは見当たりません。」 この文を英訳したいのですが，問題は”それらしきもの”の表現です。実際には”それらしきもの”は「キャンセル回路用端子」を指します。 丁寧に書けば； 「回路図の中にキャンセル回路用端子らしきものは見当たりません。」と書けば良いのでしょうが，英語にも”それらしきもの”に当たる表現はあるのでしょうか？ 丁寧な文の英語なら； There can not be found what seems to be the cancelling circuit terminals in the circuit diagram. この文から”それらしきもの”が見当たらないの文章に代えれば， There can not be found what seems to be in the circuit diagram.で正しい英語になるのでしょうか？ ご教示よろしくお願いします。
