a nice way でしょうか。 put の後に目的語として what kind of reader you are という間接疑問文。 「あなたがどんな種類の読み手か」を put する。 put は基本「～を置く」という意味からさまざまな響きで用いられます。 put A into B で translate「翻訳する」と訳せますが，A, B が言葉に関する語の場合， into と相まって「置き換える」というのが「翻訳」と感じられる。 as he put it「彼が言ったように」 To put it simply「簡潔に言えば」 のように，put で「表現する」から「言う」的に訳せることもあります。 これは，あなたがどんな種類の読み手であるかを表すすばらいい方法だ。 これは，あなたがどんな種類の読み手であるかを端的に表している。

私は、もうすぐ受験をひかえている中学3年生です。 志望校に毎年出題されている英作文で分からない問題があり、苦戦しています。 〔〕内を並べ替えて正しい文にしなさいという問題なのですが、 〔 tree you are what kind planting of 〕 (1)What kind of tree are you planting? 英語での面接時における悪い例という本を読んだのですが以下の文だけが分かりませんでした。 「you wouldn't be putting in the kind of effort we are looking for here.」 これは面接官が最後に言った一言になります。 面接を受けにきた人が「ここの仕事内容にはあまり興味がないがなんとなくやっていけそうだし、ここは前職より給料がいいし、就労時間も少ない」 それだけで志望してきたというよくある悪い例なのですが、 最後に面接官が「「you wouldn't be putting in the kind of effort we are looking for here.」 といいました。 どういう意味かが分かりません。 分からない箇所は wouldn't be とはどんな意味でしょうか？ kind of effort ＝努力の種類と訳してしまいますがそれでは意味が分かりません。 どう訳すのでしょうか？ we are looking for here＝私たちはここを探していると訳してしまうのですがそれでは意味が分かりません。 どう訳すのでしょうか？ 恐れ入りますが教えて下さい。 英語は勉強中の初心者です

質問がうまくまとまりませんでした。長文です。 質問１ 客がレストランの店員に店にある炭酸飲料の種類について聞く時、 (a) What kind of soft drinks do you have? (b) What kinds of soft drinks do you have? (c) What kind of soft drink do you have? (d) What kinds of soft drink do you have? のどれが妥当でしょうか。 質問２ 複数種類あることが想定されるとき、 上記(a)と(c)のように、kindを複数形にするのではなく、 そのあとの名詞（soft drink）を複数形にするのでしょうか。 質問３ these kinds of envelope という言い方ですが、 封筒が複数あってその種類が一種類しかなくても 封筒が複数あってその種類が複数種類あっても この言い方になりますか？ 上記の質問の意図を説明します。 まず、質問１(a)の文を見かけました。 「（自分が）ここらへんいい加減に使っているな～」と思ったので、 確認するため手許にある本を見てみました。 本は、LONGMAN Dictionary of Common Errors という本です。 kind of の部分を引用します。 --------------------------------------- kind of 1 誤 There are many kind of job for people with qualifications. 正 There are many kinds of job for people with qualifications. 正 I enjoy all kind of sport. 正 I enjoy all kinds of sport.
