Former Army of Anyone/Filter frontman Richard Patrick has made further comments on his Facebook page regarding former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland's current problems: Maybe he needs to get out of music, the limelight and chill for awhile.. Just get back to being a normal guy.. ? Ray, without a bottom how will an addict know he's loosing everything? The addict must see the bottom.. Blaming your co-workers for this is absolutely, completely and utterly wrong. This is about saving someone's life. I've learned that where there's smoke there's fire. ※ 『Filter』『Army of Anyone』はバンド名で、『Richard Patrick』『Scott Weiland』は人物名です。

The interview is split into 3 parts, with Part 1 covering Filter's recent tour bus problems (the band are currently on the Summerland tour with Live, Sponge, and Everclear), Army of Anyone, and Scott Weiland. Part 2 focuses on Filter's new critically acclaimed album The Sun Comes Out Tonight, while Part 3 focuses on Trent Reznor, Richard's relationship with former Filter members, and Richard being considered to replace Layne Staley in Alice In Chains. ※ 『Filter』『Alice In Chains』『Army of Anyone』はバンド名、『Richard Patrick』『Scott Weiland』『Trent Reznor』『Layne Staley』は人物名、『The Sun Comes Out Tonight』はアルバム名です。

I spoke with Filter frontman Richard Patrick for nearly an hour yesterday on the phone, Patrick discussed everything in his career from his early days in Nine Inch Nails, Filter's hey day in the 90's and early 2000's, his time with STP's DeLeo brothers in the supergroup Army of Anyone, and his return to Filter. Patrick was very candid, discussing the proudest moments of his career and his struggles overcoming addiction a decade ago. He even did an impression of Billy Corgan! ※ 『Filter』『Nine Inch Nails』『Army of Anyone』はバンド名、『Richard Patrick』『Billy Corgan』は人物名です。

Years ago Weiland and Patrick were friends, bonding on the Family Values Tour over a decade ago. Patrick went on to perform in the short lived supergroup Army of Anyone with the DeLeo brothers from 2005-2007. Weiland has admitted to struggling with alcoholism in the last 5-6 years after a few years of being clean and sober. Patrick had his own struggles with drugs and alcohol in the past, but he has been clean and sober for nearly 11 years. ※ 『Filter』『Army of Anyone』はバンド名で、『Richard Patrick』『Scott Weiland』は人物名です。

Vocally Bennington channels Scott Weiland circa Velvet Revolver's Libertad during the verse, and his melody on the pre chorus reminds me of Shangri LA DEE DA. On the chorus though he sounds nothing like Weiland, he actually reminds me of Richard Patrick in the 90's. This song is what I kind of imagined Army of Anyone sounding like (their sole album ended up being far mellower than I had thought it would be). I prefer “Out of Time” to most of Army of Anyone's album, and roughly half of Talk Show's album (there's some really memorable songs on that album). Dean DeLeo's guitar solo is vintage STP.

Stone Temple Pilots have deleted everything on their official website StoneTemplePilots.com, and have replaced it with a large message containing their short February 27th press release announcing the firing of Scott Weiland. Weiland has disputed in the press that he's been fired, proclaiming that he is still STP's frontman. ※ 『Stone Temple Pilots(STP)』はバンド名、『Scott Weiland』は人物名です。

Filter frontman Richard Patrick & new Stone Temple Pilots frontman Chester Bennington talk about Scott Weiland and playing with the DeLeos for the first time in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter Patrick: Army of Anyone was a completely separate outside band. We wanted to take the DeLeo brothers to my sound design and we did a lot of that, but I went at it so that under no circumstances could I be compared to Scott Weiland. I had to sing everything high and I wanted to sing way up there because Scott's a baritone and the moment you start singing baritone stuff… so I was adamant that they stay in the key of drop D because that's where my voice likes to hang out. I kept saying things like, “I wanna rock. I wanna do really fast, exciting stuff!” Bennington: They had decided to move forward without Scott, and were talking about who they wanted to move forward with. My name got brought up … and I was like, “Fuck yeah!” I didn't even think about it. It was like a dog looking at a squirrel, getting instantly excited and wanting to chase it.

STP released all six of their albums from 1992 to 2010 on Atlantic Records. The band were involved in a lawsuit with Atlantic in 2008 when the label sued former frontman Scott Weiland and drummer Eric Kretz for attempting to get out of their contract so STP could self-release their new music. The DeLeo brothers had been let out of their contract for Army of Anyone. STP and Atlantic worked out their issues and STP's 2010 self-titled comeback album was released on Atlantic.
