思いでなく行為になってきた
読者が主人公に求めるものが、彼の「思い」でなく、 彼の「行為」になってきたからではないか。 上記を英訳してみました。 I think that's because what the readers want for the character has changed from "his think" to "his action". 訂正お願いいたします。

I think that is because what the readers expect for the main character has been changed from "what he thinks" to "What he does." ★書き言葉なら、普通短縮形は使いません。 ★what he thinks なら what he does his thinking なら his action, his deed というようにバランスよく並べましょう。 以上でいかがでしょうか？

この文章はアメリカのある修道女の中絶反対運動に関する発言ですが、中程にある And why would I think that you don’t？ はどういう意味に取ったらいいでしょうか？ don't の後の動詞が省略されていると考えば、どんな動詞くるのでしょうか？ I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is.

For example,a professor has a class about philosophy. He can easily gives knowledge and ideology to his students. But I don't think all of them can accept his thoughts correctly. That's because they need to concentrate on his class and have a little knowledge about his thoughts before they have the class in order to understand what he gives.
