"He had not been employed by the company two months before his linguistic abilities were recognized"

#272 He had not been employed by the company two months before his linguistic abilities were recognized. He had not been employedなのですから、2ヶ月間は雇われていなかったということにならないのでしょうか? 。。 I had not waited long before he came.

He had not been employed by the company two years before his linguistic abilities were recognized.

6.It matters little what kind of books one reads,so long as one has sound Jugment. また、so long as one has sound Jugment.のsoundは動詞だと思ったのですがどういう意味なのでしょうか?? 7.It is not wise, nor in the long run,is it kind,to tax the thritry for the wasteful. 8.We look back on days gone by if not always with affection,~ →byは必要なのですか?? それで、byの次に名詞がくるとして、if以下が名詞節でいいのですか?? 9.He told me that whatever might happened,he was prepared for it. →told me that whatever might~をtold me whatever might~にしたらだめですか?? happened,he was prepared for it.の部分でhappened, which he was prepared for it.だと思って文全体を修飾したら良いと思ったのですが、どうしてwhichはつかないのでしょうか?A,BでAを修飾可能なんですか?? 10.He hadn't been employed by the company two weeks before his linguistic abilities were recognized. →the company two weeksで、期間の前置詞forはいらないのですか??

"which shoed a sign"以下で解釈に困っています。 He had a jaundiced view of the gay issue. He had no kith or kin, and noisome odor always came drifting from his armpits beside his cadaverous chest, which showed a sign of his protracted disease. He was a complete neophyte on this matter, but he had this odious habit of judging anything before him. He had given a reprieve of one month, so he was more cheerful and unassuming in his behavior than he had been a couple of months earlier.

- run all over him
I've been dating "Grant" for a few months, though we have known each other for 20-plus years. He has two kids, ages 25 and 21, and I feel that they run all over him. Their mother died about five years ago. She and Grant had been divorced for a few years before that. His youngest son, "John," lives with him, and Grant got the boy a job at his company. I feel that he needs to stop treating the kid as if he were 15. run all over himはどのような意味でしょうか?

Perhaps it was because he was now so busy, what with Quidditch practice three evenings a week on top of all his homework, but Harry could hardly believe it when he realised that he'd already been at Hogwarts two months. what with Quidditch practice three evenings a week on top of all his homework 宿題に重なって、週に3夜、クィデッチの練習のために he was now so busy 彼は今やとても忙しかった 1) この二つをあわせると、「宿題に重なって、週に3夜、 クィデッチの練習のために、彼は今やとても忙しかっ た」となるような気がしますが、「he was now so busy」の前に「because」があるので理由を述べていま す。 he was now so busy, what with Quidditch practice three evenings a week on top of all his homework Harry could hardly believe it when he realised that he'd already been at Hogwarts two months

(A) has been (B) had been (C) is (D) be
