「I'm over here」の意味と使い方について教えてください

(1)．ラジオでリトルチャロ2の第４話を聞いていて 「That's not the way」→ 「I'm over here.」 と聞えました。 訳として、「そっちじゃない」→「私はここにいるよ」との事です I'm over here. の 「over」が、なぜ使われるのかが分かりませんでした。 I'm here.で十分だと思います 詳しい方、ご教示願います。(聞き間違いだったらすみません) (2)．外国人から故障した部品の調査を依頼されましたが、原因が分かりませんでした。 故障したのはこの１個だけだったため、 「しばらくの間、様子見とさせて下さい」とお願いしたいのですが、 (ビジネス会話として)どう英語で伝えるのが良いでしょうか？ とある英訳サイトでは「Please let me assume the stand-off for a while. 」 と出てきましたが 逆変換すると、「しばらく、にらみ合いを仮定させてください。」となってしまい このまま使って良いか悩んでしまいました。

１。＞＞I'm over here. の 「over」が、なぜ使われるのかが分かりませんでした。 I'm here.で十分だと思います 聞き間違いでは無いと思います。over の、もともとの意味は、山などを「越えて」という意味です。その延長上に（途中に何か視線を遮るものがあるかのように）注意を喚起する時、下記のような使い方があります。 http://eow.alc.co.jp/over+here/UTF-8/ ですから I'm here は、「私はここにいる」 I'm over here「（あなたは気がついていないようだが）私はここにいるんだよ」という違いがあります。 ２。「しばらくの間、様子見とさせてください」は、 下記自動詞の７「うまくいく」を使って http://eow.alc.co.jp/work/UTF-8/ Let me see if it works for a while. 「しばらく、うまくいくか見させてください」＞「しばらくの間、様子見とさせてください」 ではいかがでしょう。

こんにちは、 洋書を読んでいてHere I am.がどうして使われているのか分からない場面がありました。 使われた背景： 主人公とアリスさんはお互いに好意を持っているのだが、お互いに中々と気持ちを伝えられない。 アリスさんが主人公にかなり遠まわしに好意を伝えようとしたが、主人公はハッキリとそれに答えることができぬまま、その日の会話を終えてアリスさんが帰る。 J.L.Carr著のA Month in the Countryからの引用です。 I should have put out a hand and taken her arm and said, "Here I am.
