(1)．ラジオでリトルチャロ2の第４話を聞いていて 「That's not the way」→ 「I'm over here.」 と聞えました。 訳として、「そっちじゃない」→「私はここにいるよ」との事です I'm over here. の 「over」が、なぜ使われるのかが分かりませんでした。 I'm here.で十分だと思います 詳しい方、ご教示願います。(聞き間違いだったらすみません) (2)．外国人から故障した部品の調査を依頼されましたが、原因が分かりませんでした。 故障したのはこの１個だけだったため、 「しばらくの間、様子見とさせて下さい」とお願いしたいのですが、 (ビジネス会話として)どう英語で伝えるのが良いでしょうか？ とある英訳サイトでは「Please let me assume the stand-off for a while. 」 と出てきましたが 逆変換すると、「しばらく、にらみ合いを仮定させてください。」となってしまい このまま使って良いか悩んでしまいました。

こどもたちと英語で遊ぶときの質問についてアドバイスお願いします。 絵カードなどを見せて "What's this?" と聞く「あてっこゲーム」をよくやります。 まず、絵がlion, elephant, apple など 1つのものを描いたものであるときは What's this? と尋ねています。 次に ant、 cherryなどが 複数個、描かれている絵の場合は、質問も What are these? とすべきでしょうか？ それとも、特にこだわらず What's this? でいいのでしょうか？ また、例えば、「ひと房のぶどう」が描かれているときは、どうでしょうか？ What's this? と聞いて、a bunch of grapes という答えをさせるか？ What are these? と聞いて、 grapes という答えを引き出すか？ 複数形の感覚が、日本語にはそれほど厳密にはないようなので、感覚的な理解が難しく、アドバイスをよろしくお願いします。
