moral certaintyは誤解される事が多いフレーズです。 現在の用法は本来の意味と異なるような使い方が少なくありません。 これは、moral = 道徳 と関連させてしまう人が多い為でしょう。 参考urlをご参照ください。ここでは裁判で使われる表現の定義について色々と説明がありますが、一部を抜粋します。 「The Oxford English Dictionary, reflecting historical usage, defines the phrase as "a degree of probability so great as to admit of no reasonable doubt," a meaning essentially synonymous with "proof beyond a reasonable doubt." (3) …がいかに少ないかを考えると, …が大したものでないことを考慮すると For all the progress she's made, she might as well find something easier to do. あまり進歩をしていないことを考えると彼女はもっとやさしいことを見つけたほうがよいのかも 本題に入ります。 英検準一級問題（２０１３年第３回）「The Miracle Bean」から抜粋しました。 For all of the soybean's advantages, it seems there is a long way to go before it truly fulfills its promise as a "miracle crop." 「大豆の利点にかかわらず、それが本当に”ミラクルな作物”として約束を果たすまでの道のりは長いと思われる」 上記例文（１）と（３）をみるとfor aｌｌ～は意味合いが違いますが、私は文章の前後関係から判断して「～にもかかわらず」と訳しました。 仮に短文だとしたらどう訳すのでしょうか？前後の文章があるからこそ訳し方が決まるのでしょうか? 特に（３）の例文訳が非常に難しく感じます。私はこんな訳し方は思いつきません。 どなたかご指導おねがいします。
